It is very difficult to write something about a book that has been so hyped, discussed and praised the world over. As I discovered, Love Story is a poignant tale that touches your heart and leaves its imprint forever. We meet Oliver who narrates the whole experience as to how he met, loved and lost the most important person in his life, Jennifer.
The book has the one of the most famous and touching beginnings of a novel. I have to quote the opening lines:
What can you say about a twenty-five-year-old girl who died? That she was beautiful. And brilliant. That she loved Mozart and Bach. And the Beatles. And me.
And thus begins the classic. I somehow found it a little strange that the central characters fell in love very easily or rather quickly. But I guess that is the beauty of love, which happens just like that. Oliver finds Jenny a little repulsive in the beginning but soon that same quality intrigues him further to knowing her more. The author’s entertaining style of writing is visible in this observation by Oliver when he first sees Jennifer:
I got an A minus on the exam, coincidentally the same grade I assigned to Jenny’s legs when she first walked from behind that desk.
Jenny on the other hand is so sure and confident about herself that she simply scores over Oliver no matter how hard he tries to win their verbal duels. Their playful banter is one of the main highlights of the book and it does not stop even after they get married. The story is unique because of its many beautiful moments like Oliver’s marriage proposal, Jenny’s simplicity in thoughts, their supposedly do-it-yourself-wedding etc.
Jenny’s character wins your heart as she unsuccessfully tries to thaw the relations between Oliver and his father, how she spurs Oliver on and so many more moments. Oliver himself is so endearing and likeable that you can’t stop laughing when he actually convinces Jenny to name their would-be son, Bozo.
Although the reader knows beforehand that Jenny is supposedly going to die, you somehow get so involved in the plot that you don’t want her to leave Oliver. The ending of the book is so simple and stark that I had to reread the chapter to enforce the ending of the story. Many people cry at the end of this epic novel, which was something, that had made me really curious to read the book. At the end when Oliver breaks down in his father’s arms, it is safe to say that I was pretty numb with the whole experience.
Jenny’ final words are a simple “Thanks, Ollie”. I think along with the now famous quote from this book “Love means never having to say you are sorry”, the author should have also mentioned that love also means never having to say thanks.
Its a very unpretentious small book; just over 150 pages but once you start reading it you will finish it in one go. What’s different about this novel is that the bulk of the novel consists of actual conversations between the characters, which is very realistic. This tragic story of love inspires and enriches anyone who reads it!!!!!!
I loved this story so much and tears started running down my cheeks at the end!!! And I always feel there is no death for love at all!! Death is only for soul but not for Precious Love!!! Love always remains alive forever & ever!!!! It is the same even in this novel, jennny expires but her love is always alive for ever & ever..!!! Best example is the great & beautiful Taj Mahal in our country!!! Both the lovers expired but their love is always alive which is praised & loved by all souls even now!!!
All in all this is a beautiful novel which i loved so much though i don’t like the tragic part!! It has so sweet & heart toughing lines & proposal!!!

There’s lots of things
With which I’m blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one’s the best:
To have a friend like you.
In times of trouble
Friends will say,
“Just ask, I’ll help you through it.”
But you don’t wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!
And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

- Tata Motors may pull the plug on Singur if the situation does not improve within the next fortnight
- The Singur plant is a readymade construction, which can be moved. The expected loss is estimated to be Rs 100-200 crore on account of expenses incurred in laying the foundation, besides the inevitable delay in full-scale production of the Nano.

This whole week i had to rush to home as early as possible as i had to do so much work for my upcoming house function. So was telling all my buddies to pray for me that someone should be absent in my office so that i can get a system & finish my office work fast & get back to home. Amazing!!! immediately the next second i got a message that i can come early as n finish my work n go. I was like jumping around happily..! After my college i came to office, did my work & was leaving to home. From a week was thinking y cant it rain atleast once n while starting my bike i was thinking how nice ii will be if it rains now!!!! Guess what!! It rained the next second!! I was very happy to the chore & started driving in rain so nicely. It was an Awesome & Gorgeous rain..!! Many people stopped driving & where standing in shelter but i didnt want to stop. Coz i always believe in these words:
“Enjoy every second of your life as it never comes back to you again” Rain comes once in a while so i didnt want to miss that cool enjoyment in rain..! It was damn cool & awesome as roads were so empty, no traffic n no people on road for crossing also..!! It was all like the whole road is mine..!! I started telling my poetry lines n was driving:
Rain Rain Rain,
With wind, sun and clouds,
seven colors u bring together
and joy in our hearts.
There will be rain here
We normally run for shelter
Who wants to be wet in the rain
And look like a helpless chick in the drain?
There will be rain and more rains to come
In our lives, and we always run for secure
Shelters, and we always have umbrellas,
And raincoats, and closed cars, we hide to places
Where The rain cannot harm us,
But today, there is rain, and I will take
Another action, I will not run for shelter,
Or take shades in trees, or be in waiting sheds,
I will not even get out of my bike!
I am not afraid of rain now; I have no fears getting wet
And look like a helpless chick, I will run in the
Middle of the rain, I will play in the rain, I will
Be with the rain throughout its pouring,
I will be wet, and it will rain and rain,
Let it rain and rain and rain
You will not see, my tears falling, tears hiding in the rain….!!!!!!!!
Singing, singing & dreaming i reached home n mom was very scared to see me like this fully wet. Sweet jo started tackling my hair & i got freshed up & had hot hot yummy yummy fried roasted onion pav bhaji which was hmmmm cooll!! All my wishes for the day & week came true..!!! how sweet of god that he made my dreams & wishes come true..!!! But ive a small wish. Shall i tell?? Hmmmm its nothing hope atleast one day it rains in babypink color!! Atleast once atleast in my dream..!!!!! Hope this wish also comes true..!!

India’s top outsourcing companies will likely become the next generation of “megavendors” for IT services by 2011, competing for deals worth more than $1 billion, according to a report by industry analyst Gartner released on Wednesday.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys Technologies and Wipro will increasingly compete with other top players such as IBM, Accenture and EDS for those large deals, Gartner said.
The top Indian outsourcers, called the India-3 by Gartner, are more frequently being invited to bid on large deals that were earlier closed to them, said Partha Iyengar, a Gartner analyst.
Multinational service providers like IBM, EDS and Accenture have set up large offshore service operations in India to take advantage of low-cost staff. But they are not fully getting the benefits of this offshore strategy, even as customers in the US and other countries are increasingly looking at a mix of onshore and offshore delivery, Iyengar said.
Sales teams of multinational service providers are also more likely to sell US clients more expensive onshore service plans because their commissions are tied to value of those deals, Iyengar said. The onshore and offshore delivery teams of the multinational services providers are not as well integrated as those of Indian outsourcers, he said.
Large services companies like IBM are still likely to get deals larger than $6 billion, but increasingly the deals are being split into smaller but still high-value orders, Iyengar said. That is a significant opportunity for India’s top three outsourcers, he added.
Gartner also said Indian vendors will have to make significant changes in their business models to compete with the top three services companies.
For example, the top three Indian outsourcers will have to move away from hiring more new employees in order to maintain revenue growth. They will also have to achieve similar levels of revenue per employee as the top vendors, Gartner added. The revenue per employee of the top Indian outsourcers is far lower than that of IBM, Accenture and EDS. In 2007, IBM’s revenue per employee was $146,910, Accenture’s was $130,200 and EDS’s at $154,340.
Indian companies had far lower employee productivity: Tata Consultancy Services’ revenue per employee in 2007 was $51,320, while that of Infosys was $45,800 and for Wipro, $41,310.

BANGALORE: The chief executive of Infosys Technologies, India’s second-largest software services exporter, said the business environment remained challenging but there was no move by clients for lower prices.Nasdaq-listed Infosys is finding new business opportunities despite an uncertain global economic environment, S Gopalakrishnan said on Wednesday.
“We see opportunities with existing clients, we see opportunities with new clients,” he said. He also added, “We need to accelerate growth with new clients.”
Last month, Infosys, which develops applications, designs supply chains and offers back-office services, reported a 21 percent rise in quarterly profit but warned of challenging times ahead as its major Western clients battle weakening economies.
Indian outsourcing firms such as Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services are expanding to Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America to cut their dependence on the United States.
